Women on Board is a non-profit association created by five women dedicated to promoting female access to directorship roles within Belgian enterprises (public and private). Set up in December 2009, Women on Board has achieved its primary goals:

  • to create a pool of talented women ready to take up board positions
  • to facilitate access to this pool for Belgian enterprises searching for female directors

Jouw missie

In this vital role, your responsibilities will be extensive and impactful:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans in alignment with the association’s objectives.
  • Ensure effective operational management, maintaining the association's vision and mission at the forefront.

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with members, corporate partners, and media outlets.
  • Engage in regular communication with stakeholders to enhance the association's visibility and reputation.

Membership Growth and Engagement:

  • Strategically expand our membership base and engage current members, ensuring a dynamic and active community.
  • Facilitate connections between our talent pool and Belgian enterprises seeking female board members.

Communications and Public Relations:

  • Act as a key spokesperson for the association, representing our mission in various forums, including media and public events.
  • Oversee the association's communication strategy, including social media presence and press relations, to enhance our visibility and impact.

Board Liaison and Governance:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and the association, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals.
  • Coordinate and prepare for board meetings, including agenda setting, documentation preparation, and follow-up on action items.

Program and Event Management:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of key programs and events, such as networking events, workshops, and roundtables, to foster member engagement and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in organizing events and initiatives that align with the association's goals.

Financial and Administrative Oversight:

  • Supervise the association’s financial, technical, and administrative activities in coordination with the Treasurer.
  • Ensure the adherence to budgetary guidelines and financial health of the association.

Committee Coordination:

  • Lead the quarterly organization of the Admission Committee, conducting interviews with potential members and collaborating with the Selection Advisor to ensure a rigorous selection process.

Time Investment :

  • 33 % on daily and activity management
  • 33 % on events and GA organization
  • 33 % on partner relationships and fundraising

Je profiel

  • Educational Background: University degree or equivalent.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, French, and Dutch.
  • Professional Experience: A proven track record in senior management or executive roles across diverse industries.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Exceptional ability to lead, collaborate, and build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strategic Acumen: Strong strategic planning and implementation skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities, both verbally and in writing, including digital and social media proficiency.
  • Teamwork and Influence: Demonstrated capability to work effectively in a team and influence decision-making.
